The SAIIPL Council
is in the process of setting up a bursary scheme to develop awareness
of patent law among university students. Due to the unique nature
of the scheme, it is taking some time to find an enthusiastic partner
at one of the Universities. Fortunately, UNISA recently expressed
a keen interest and has promised to assist in structuring a programme.
In the meantime, the SAIIPL Council will be funding two law students
from a previously disadvantaged background at R10 000 each to attend
UNISA's School for Practical Legal Training for 2009.
