Intellectual Property in China

“The SAIIPL is considering hosting an afternoon workshop on 26 August 2008 (venue to be determined) pertaining to various aspects of intellectual property in China.  Topics will typically include:

• General update on China's IP landscape;
• Patent and technology transfer licensing;
• Trademarks and designs;
• Navigating the regulatory landscape; and
• Enforcing IP rights in China.

Representatives from Rouse & Co will be giving presentations, and will also be leading further discussions.

European Patent Office Examiners on study visit to SA in Oct 2008

Four EPO Examiners specializing in chemical engineering patents will be visiting Pretoria on 17 October 2008 and are willing to present a day seminar on EPC2000 to SAIIPL members.  Please let me know if you are interested in attending so that the relevant arrangements can be made.
